Some people believe they're above others. I've never felt that, although I've been tempted before. Some people believe they're here to rid the world of those they cannot stand. They're wrong. Will continue to be wrong. No matter how successful they think they are, until they face their own truth they won't understand.

I've been doing a lot of thinking. I'm not sure where to go from here, but my life is steadily getting better everyday. I have the most wonderful woman, the kindest family, and the task to keeping their house hold well. Right now I've high blood pressure and am pretty lethargic because of medication. But I'm sure I'll even out in a few days.

No matter how much you try to destroy me I will resist the fear. I've been beaten down enough in my life. I know someone who has better things to do, but won't, for some strange reason...I guess life is what you make it. And if that's your life, I can't tell you you're wrong. You'll just have to find out sooner or later.

I feel lost here, not crying in my room but wondering where and when.

I feel as if those cursory glances were stolen, misread when I tell truth.

I envisioned tackling and changing how they do business.

The men with their thumb drives like mine. I remember the lies they'd tell. Just to get another sell.

I can't take from people, and perhaps, then some do pity. But I never use, abuse. If I do it's without understanding.

Some would call me a robot, but that's not true either. Zombie? Nah. Tell me straight and I'll do what it is you want.

I won't lie that my mind lingers, wanders through permutations. I build and build and then am crushed under the weight.

For a season I have no reason, and then the cycle expunges my hopes. But some day that cycle will stall, and never come again.

Beyond the Edge of Insanity

Sometimes, those of us who are born into society don't seem to fit it's particular nature. They look around themselves, and ask..."What am I doing here?" and then they ask "What are we doing here?" and sometimes, the answer they find, scares the hell out of them.

But then, then they realize that the ebb and flow of space-time allow for the fractal patterns of all life to change, however slightly, to affect for the greater good.

When they forget that, and they become so distraught--and afraid for all those they love--they start to try and help people understand what they see. Sometimes it's overbearing, because we've all been taught not to question--but to make statements.

Why do we fear answers?

Recently, I've been learning to stop fearing. And to stop hiding. And to remember the heart of gold we're all born with.

So excuse this rough transition.

I love you, even if you don't know me.

I love you, even if you hate me.

Because even if you come from a different background, or have different hair color...if the world was populated with me, all we'd be doing is asking questions. So thanks. Thanks for being there.

So, I've never really stated when Corrode EP would be done. Because it's one of those things that will be ready when it's ready. And you know, the tutorial is going to be sweet for fans and noobs alike. "DTTA" will be responsible for this part.

"DTTA" will do the Hubbers Newb Guides before I even start on the music tutorial (I've made one before..) because I figure it'll help me iron out any quirks, and give me that much more experience in hopes that it'll be a polished product.

This ENTIRE month I'm re-organizing, re-grouping, so I can assault HubPages in February. This is intentional, I'll admit. However, if I can just get a damned rhythm down, I'll be much more effective with my time and not feel so internally pressured.

I'm also doing some therapy writing. I plan to write a novella. It possibly will simultaneously launch with Corrode E.P.

Tentatively titled "Denial of Heart," it will be set 15 seconds from now. I'm doing lots of research. It builds upon older and (so far) incomplete material, but will do well to be first anyway, since it'll give people a taste of what's to come.

What about the plot?

Well, can't give away too many secrets. We'll just call it a "murder mystery."
I've had it boiling in my head for months, and because I've proven to myself it's quite trivial to hammer out ~3000 words every hour or two, I don't think this short book will gum up the already crazy mechanics of this release schedule.

Besides, it'll help test my "MediaPak" theory. (You'll see.)

Anyway, thats it for now. DTTA is still in full swing; I'm busy building it's brand recognition by creating content that will be useful to many newcomers. No need to thank me---information wants to be free.

Kari has been hard at work on some things(right click to open new link). I do not want to overshadow this or draw attention away (as if I could..), and to be honest, behind the scenes of one particular arm of my operations is in need of drastic overhaul.

Some unexpected occurrences have reared their heads, and I am retreating until the 1st. But everything is in place for a stellar year. I hate due dates, not because I can't keep them, but because often what I wish to accomplish changes in nature. It's not a volatile state I can't control; you've seen us making inroads to supplying you with entertainment from ourselves and others end to end.

That said, I owe you a big one. I obsess over details. I feel more than "know."

With closure of Through a lxxy Darkly, I aimed to up the ante into maximum awesome range. No content, even borrowed, is left untouched. But enough of the hype machine.

Just know I'm sorry and hate having to make these choices, but my Funkometer ran afoul after a significantly distressing occurrence on the 24th. No one is hurt, all is well. But I'm only assuming this, in light of past experience. I just haven't had confirmation.

And while jarred I may be, I don't quit. Adapting, however, can take some time.

I've also have come up with a work-around that severely diminishes scores to some of my content; it requires replacing content with a different format. IE. lyrics to songs that are on 13+billion websites and counting.

Possibly something else before then, but it's in a state of flux.

Hello all!

Tis I, lxxy.

We've been hard at work on several projects: HP Vid Newb Guide, Corrode EP, Through a lxxy Darkly (and all its media foolery), not to mention laying a foundation for DTTA as to better prop up Universal Salon financially.

So it's really just me....and Kari. And all of you. I am committed to showing people how to Hub, because I think it's an easy system to get your feet wet.

I don't even abuse all the power of Blogger here--admittedly more free--because even with the knowledge, I like KISS. I'd be writing this in eMacs if I really wanted to be super-efficient, but the beauty of Blogger is that I'm not having to host.

Anyway, derailment aside, here's some news:

Volume 2 of the HP Vid Guide will debut 12/11/09.
The track "Away//Forward" is going through some creative incubation. I've decided to create two mixes--one to emphasize the "dark" and the other to emphasize "light." You can guess which of the two will be (full-onish) melodic.

Now, because this is basically two different mixes, the second track will not be charged for in the commercial release. I don't milk content, at least not from a money sign point of view...I just think this poem is one of my more beloved across the board, and I'm enthusiastic to share different dimensions of my sound to fill in those gaps.

I've never been anything but "experimental," and my sound has varied throughout the years--admittedly though, it's always retained a harder edge because once something has "metal" in it, it's hard to get away from the stigma without becoming Sugar Ray.

At any rate, this isn't pandering for a larger demographic. It's discovering ways to mix up different aspects in a public setting.

With the release of the next "Through a lxxy Darkly," you'll have yourself an audio present from alienUplink. Since "Away//Forward" is taking so long.

Expect it by x-mas.

Ah, ye now oft-forgotten alienUplink fragment known as a blog.

Right now there are numerous things afoot with GeneriqueMedia, and Universal Salon. Least to mention DTTA, which will be key in bringing some revenue to the later in the future.

It's all part of the Renaissance of Love.

Anyway, lxxy will be publishing something about the internet soon. Not "Netwar Part II" yet, but the exploration of communication in the cyborg age.

That's right, all you thumb twiddlin' CrackBerry owners, iPad and iPhone surfers. I do know some of you are out there. All six of you at last count. Haha. But the numbers are growing by month.

lxxy is also doing "Through a lxxy Darkly," which takes on after "The Further Adventures of.."

It's roughly the same tone, full of twists and turns, and apparently well written according to some in the comments of various chapters.

It's also a breeding ground. It's not what I really want to launch big onto the world, but pieces of the puzzle are being implemented. You've seen videos, a track made specifically for the saga, and now, there's a choose your-own-adventure style story for Windows users. Sorry guys. Actually, it's rather trivial to find the program to play it on other platforms if you so choose...I'll try to get it together soon enough.

alienUplink continues to work on a new effort, Corrode EP. We hope to gain some new technology from the release. Details have been spread through out the interwebs.

But, Digital Technology Teaching Academy will be the foundation to ensure our little rag tag of projects can continue to grow into something that is community-driven and truly interested in benefiting all of man kind.

Darwin's Laureate, Hush Hush

Playing around with a couple of applications, it's occurred to me recently how I might do some justice to a Darwin's Laureate reboot.

Not that it'll be a "reboot" in a traditional sense, I'm thinking more of a DVD/torrent. A labor of love, which if I had the money I'd hire some decent voice acting.

In all truth, I dislike the idea of a mainline story compilation as it once had been. Even the psuedo-sequel / "direct approach" left the audience wondering what was going on.

Because of the nature of the project--an organically grown mess, in best of terms, it can be a hard concept to grasp.

And really, the reason is because it was never supposed to be so "finite." So...collected, easily spotted, understood to be a function of fiction. The HubPages run was a test, and in all truth--if I had nothing else to do in life, I'd be running around trying to secure different elements to make the whole vision happen.

Those are my true feelings.

I want to create something so massive, between an alternate reality game and classical story line, that it is literally beyond my means at this point. Money, I don't believe is the biggest factor, either.

Strategy and solid story is the biggest hurdle. But when you're trying to feed your audience through so many angles--twitter updates, random youtube uploads, blog articles, facebook accounts....when all of this is going on, how do you exactly formulate a long-range story line crafted around several types of media? That's the biggest hurdle.

But....the DVD thing, might be a fun little exercise. Because of it's nature, however, it can never become a viable commercial product---too much licensing issues.

We'll see.

How to Win a Thousand Internets, and More

Hello,

Recently G|M has been on a techie kick, probably because of some experimenting with technology and getting remote desktop stuff going for his company. The quest for knowledge has interesting side quests.

At any rate, posting an interesting article to HubPages entitled How to Win a Thousand Internets was pulled for a couple of days. He hosted it locally on his computer until it was restored by HP. They fear AdSense would complain, but judging by the ads I don't think so. It shows you how easy WEP is to crack. Soon, they'll be a followup with good tips, and also more in-depth to protecting your home network.

In other news, I've been fiddling around. Because of electricity around here, I think my computer has begun to bite it a bit. Well, at least we haven't had a fire.

On that note, I'm busy slowly constructing a new machine, though I just may upgrade this one. The high end video card bit it the other day, which means making video is not as easy as it could be, even with the speed of the processors.

It'll get better again, eventually. It'll be cheaper, too.

At any rate, writing is....haphazard. Look out for some new Hubs from each of us, soon.

Vindows Veel torture Vu, and more

Hello Humans,

Tis I, the irreverent and largely irrelevant androgynoid of noise.

G|M has made a move from Rancho Santa (let's all have a) Margarita to Dana Point. It's a beautiful view, I assure. With this move came the reconnection of all our hardware, and a fervent need to make up for lost time and install a new edition of Ubuntu.

A clear upgrade path, in semi-normal-english, from the version he had to the latest and greatest was not possible. Undaunted, he went to transpose the new software anyway. Obviously, like most said, it wouldn't work. Boohoo.

Not a problem, though, for he backed everything up to his external hard drive and jumped to the rarely used Windows to make sure everything would be kosher for a new clean re-install. To his dismay, while Windows was cleaning up the main hard drive (read: defragging) it kept loving to access said external hard drive.

Ever aware and looking to not see a hard drive fail due to some irrational attention given to it by Windows, he opted the "safely remove device" route that Windows presents it's self so the hard drive wouldn't be needlessly tortured by being constantly scanned.

Err...bad idea. In theory, this ability to stop the hardware safely and sanely works. In real world experience, it doesn't always, but he's never had a problem with it as far as external hard drives went.

When everything was ready for the Ubuntu install he dutifully rebooted and installed with no hitches, only to find out it saw but didn't like reading his external drive. Trying to understand as to why he booted back into Windows where the problem was more pronounced..ie, it
didn't recognize that it was even connected.

Fiddling and fiddling away, finally it mounted and a check disk was ran. This would only contribute to the problem because now all data that could have fit on the hard drive had been copied from the old and turned every file it could fill up into a .CHK.

MP3s, pictures, texts, programs, you name it. He tried for days to sort through the mess, but would find that NO check file could possibly be his collection of lyrics, poems, and odd short stories he had begun writing years ago.

In short...everything is gone, unintelligible, and useless. It stung the first couple of days, but now he feels more free. The only drawback is music that was in the process of being recorded has been set back, and so many fun little samples, VST instruments, plugins, pictures, and various other media have died in this horrible tragedy.

Undaunted, progress will continue to be made in reorganizing and setting back up the software side again. Will he ever learn to back up more adequately next time?

Yes, yes he will.

In other news, it's been 12 months since G|M has joined HubPages. And he's spilling the beans on much of it! The adventure so far has two parts, and more are being ironed out as time, patience, and attention span allows.

Hello everyone out there,

Tis I, the reclusive G|M. It's been almost ten months since I signed up for HubPages and began posting various things there, and what a ride it has been. It's an interesting site for quickly publishing articles with a guarantee of some readership and camaraderie, and I hope to always have a special place for it in my thoughts.

As it stands right now I am undergoing the process of revamping and retooling Inverse//Reverse. The novel, which many of loved it's progression and parts thus far has come to the point where I am comfortable with the characters and world set (as it's been within me for years) but I feel I am making a fatal flaw in how it jumps around, how the characters interact, etc.

In short, I'm going to slow it down. One of the pitfalls with I//R is that it's YATVN, or rather, Yet Another Teen Vampire Novel. On the surface only, however.

The fact is as often as I do there are certain expectations I have for myself and it's production values, as much as one can say words on paper require much 'production' other than the mad penmanship of anyone interested enough to write away.

It's hard to directly define what these goals are, because I don't quite know the whole story myself other than:

The reader will want to learn more about some key concepts (related to the overall story)
It will be presented in the best format possible digitally

That second one is the one I'm not too concerned about just yet, other than to say I'm really looking around at available options to me and then asking myself "What can I do with this aspect? Will it help or hinder? Would it detract from the novel or enhance it?" etc.

Other than the fact it could distract the reader and lend me laziness, embedded screens within text is far off from being a standard author's tool. I don't have the kind of money CBS lost on their ad in Entertainment Weekly, either.

In short, those of you familiar with my use of other media within my writing may be surprised, depending on this little side quest...HTML5 has just loomed it's head and I'm wondering a few things.

But of course, it's a novel. It's a novel that needs to have the nuts and bolts, and lay down the foundation for a kitchen sink that is it's sequel. Slowly, I'm trying to wrap my head around the concepts I'm trying to present to readers at large.

What are those concepts? Well, we'll see how it goes. Because I'm pushing myself here, and I've a lot of homework yet to be done. If I wanted to write mind grease I could continue on with what I have, hoping to improve the "underpennings" of the text heretofore already generated.

That said, don't expect a large change from the direction the draft has taken it. Those of you who have come to love Josh and his world, you'll only feel more in-tune with him.

Soon enough I'll be posting more to HP, but lxxy is on the lay low as I continue with I//R.

It's been awhile, so here's a few things:

"Ejection," a crazy-ass way of retiring lxxy has ended with "Salvation."

The thing is, I'm not retired. I'm just going into hibernation, now that I gots me a new body. It's great to have flesh again, I forgot what it was like!

My previous host, G|M is currently enraptured with his Misses, but he's blogging here/there via HubPages as time allows.

Beneath, Between, Beyond as well as Generique Studios is currently down and unreachable.

It's been a long strange year, even as it comes to a closing..we'll be remarking about it soon.

But as the Winter comes, our hibernation seems imminent.

Even the flagship novel is going through some re-tooling.

The New Deal

Hello all,

Just thought I'd update you on what is going on with G|M and I.

Currently, G|M is throwing his weight into a new company. What this means is output is being lessened greatly.

We're currently working on Inverse//Reverse, which is the book before The Greatest Con. The thing is, the way these books work it really doesn't matter in what order you read them.

We're also working on "The Dreams of Humanity," which will be available for free when it's done. It's nothing special, just a track we felt like really pushing out and out of the way.

The E.P., which will revolve around 2100 Years of Human Error is still a far way out. I work on a lot of things all the time, and my subconscious will decide when it's time.

Before that, though, we'll be doing a track to go along with k@ri's "Read Me Like a Book."

She felt confident enough to phone into the hotline, and we're going to help you see how great her work is.

There is of course..Project 3100, which has ended in it's main incarnation through the article entitled "IndoctriNATION" on HubPages.

Now that we spent a lot of time asking questions, it's time to divulge some answers. Just not the answers to the questions we've asked--they're answers to boredom, answers to technology, and answers to creativity.

I have returned to the lair to rest and recoupe.

I have already begun legwork for the next installment of Project 3100 Years Later, which involves multiple mass media:

-Theroies and Papers, starting with Message of Hope

-A video project yet to begin, but very soon.

-Project 3100 E.P.

On the table for GM is some other stuff, but they're smaller things that he is doing in between my work with you.

G|M had a bad tooth that decided right about now, at one of the most important points in life, it was going to give way and cause issues.

The server is still being kludged together. For now, here's what it consists of:

-8 CPU Cores
-11 Gigs of RAM
-1 RAPTOR hard drive @ 10K RPMs
-Decent broadband connection

What we're still working on is the software portion. But me thinks the next project before that will be to organazize, fo'shizzy.

We're working on that server. This server is going to provide you a free uplink to a lot of things...an easy to use computer, access to notes and clips of our travels, audio/visual help with using our OS we're making for you guys (it's taking us so long because we want to make it easier than the Mac! And just as stable with no security issues..no more viruses, no more MySpace issues, no more Spyware bullshit.).

The meeting with Fresco was the most beautiful six hours I have enjoyed in a long time.

Unfortuantely, our choice of recording equipment should have been better thought of. ;) But we'll be going back to it often, as we're currently in the process of making sure it does not go anywhere. Right now, they're trying to sell it to continue research, and we think it needs to be saved.

Having all this stuff we've collected during our travels we're setting up a server today so you can easily access it. It will also become the server for MyLinuxAcademy, which is a project I'll speak about later on.

On my front, G|M and I have been playing together here.

Tomorrow we have a meeting with Jacque Fresco @ The Venus Project.

His wife is already eager to meet us and learn about The Open Minded Foundation.

I am drawn to him because he speaks like I always have innately, and much like us @ The Open Minded Foundation and MyLinuxAcademy we dislike competition. It is unhealthy and not a human or animal instinct, it's just a belief that some human like Darwin took to understand the way the natural world works.

Turn on your television and radio and people will show you fear and panic. Yet, you smile, live a good life, and help people.

All is well, but they want you to stay inside your house and go to your job to keep their little game a foot. The game they play is the world, and they have controlling interest in keeping their game running.

As they've done for years. What separates us from the criminally insane is our notion that the true power is love. Our love in our hearts, our families, and our community.

They, however, work for Satan and beg to defile your innocence. They'll tell you what is good, what television to watch, put you in a school where they say this is reality and you're a great person, you just have faults and sins. But don't worry about it, drink up and work for us and you'll contribute to the great society.

I'm launching an alien assault on "negative" media.

What is negative media? Well, flip through your television channels and your radio dials, take a gander at the magazine rack.

There's plenty of media that is negative, they can be named as leigion. Here's to forgetting you. You're now getting side stepped, and I'm going to join in on the fun.

What exactly is my evil plan?

Nothing less than getting your species to play nice with each other, to remain objective--to quit being pedantic and attacking individuals. It's their deplorable actions you need to cite, not the face.

So here we go, in your face.

Megatronic Radio, episode three ("It's Time We Go Forward"), begins recording tomorrow or so. I've put it off because I'm still looking for people to call the G|M hotline and leave a spiffy message. Their cut off time is approaching.

G|M has begun to experiment with filming and editing. It's not much so far, but he has to start somewhere. He has stage fright. Me, I'm just good at being a voice. Hence the Radio Show.

We've a big project rolling down the pipeline sometime soon. It involves helping people in everyday life, with the most seemingly simple of things.
